I don't know what it is about treasure hunting, but I do know that it fuels me in a way that can quickly turn addictive if I'm not careful. I just don't get the same rush when I pull something off the shelf that everyone else has and spend way too much for it. I feel guilty. But when I score an old piece that has character, and craftsmanship and it's less than a reproduction piece, I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a bit of a high. What about you, what's your natural high?
Come on summer! We've pulled out the colorful serving pieces and we're ready to barbeque! Here in the #pnw we usually don't count on steady summer weather until the 4th of July, but we're now on day 10 of the month and getting a little antsy!
I didn't intend to fall in love. These were supposed to be barn cats. To live outside, unattached. But they have stolen our hearts. A trip to the shed is no longer just part of doing chores, it's now a sought after destination. A place to escape, forget about the worries of the day and snuggle two of the sweetest little kittens around. Countless times I've looked out to find our girls, each in a rocking chair, holding these guys and exchanging conversation. These moments, though they be little, are what makes my heart happy.
If you saw my stories, then you know that I rounded out my day by cutting back my breathtakingly, wild rose bush. But what you didn't see was the arrangement that came to life at my kitchen sink when we came in for the night. Swipe to see the finished arrangement. I'm loving the relaxed and romantic vibe it's giving off.
As we finish up the back patio and prep for the painter to come (we decided to pull the trigger and go all white), I find so much inspiration in this photo by @lizmariegalvan. The crisp white, aged ratan, the pops of galvanized and those trees! Are they olive trees Liz? And in case you didn't notice, she cleverly placed her huge cat beneath the most awesome, ginormous light fixture to balance out the photo! Haha! Ok, so I may have made that part up. But how great is this porch? Doesn't it make you wish you were Liz's bestie? Or at least neighbor? I'd be over to "borrow a cup of sugar" on the regular! Well done girl, I'm inspired!
